Challenge 1: Make a block for the Queen’s Jubilee
Make a block of 9” square (9.5” including seam allowances) – this is to be layered, quilted and bound. Please add a 1” hanging sleeve on the reverse for display purposes.
Colour: Red, white and blue or combination of all/some of these (i.e. Union flag colours)
Fabric: 100% cotton or cotton based (e.g. cotton/polyester); pre-washed and dye fast
The aim is to display the blocks as bunting at the Summer Supper in July.
The theme/design on the block to be relevant to the Royal theme e.g. crown, corgis, carriages etc
Techniques: any suitable for quilting e.g. English piecing, applique design
Date - to be submitted in person at the Summer Supper in July 2022 or submitted by the morning of the Summer Supper via email to marion.curtis@ntlworld.com The names of members submitting an entry will be eligible for a draw. The first three names out of the draw will be given a set of fat quarters.
Challenge 2: Create a quilted map
Make a quilted ‘map’ of your choice. This could be the village/town/street where you live, an imaginary place, a favourite holiday destination, seaside town etc
This could be any size.
Date - to be submitted at the February 2023 meeting.
