FAQs

Frequenty asked questions

When does the group meet?

On the second Wednesday evening and the third Friday morning in the month except August. July sees only one meeting, our summer supper held at a member's home or a suitable venue. That's 21 meetings every year to suit a variety of interests.

Where are the meetings held?

The Wednesday evening meeting is held the Meadows Community Centre, 299 Arbury Road, Cambridge, CB4 2JL from 7.00pm-9.00pm.  The Friday morning meeting is held at Grantchester Village Hall, Vicarage Drive, Grantchester, Cambridge, CB3 9NG. 9-30am to 12.30pm.  We love to see your recent work.

Our membership is open and you can find out more on our 'Join us' page, but we encourage people to come as a visitor before deciding to join. The current fee is £5 and this is refundable if you join within three months of your visit.  If you join from September 2024 the fee is £12 for the rest of the year.

When do I pay my subscription?

Our subscription year runs from January to January and subscriptions need to be paid by the end of January in order to attend the AGM. If a member has not renewed their subscription by the AGM, it will be assumed they do not wish to rejoin. We prefer subscriptions to be paid by BACS but are able to take card payments at meetings.

Do I need to be able to quilt to join the group?

Of course not! There is much to learn coming to meetings, advice and help is available along with the tea and coffee. Check our diary page for more information.  Workshops are aimed at various levels of ability.

How do I sign up for a workshop?

Workshop lists are released well in advance before the date of the workshop and will be available at meetings. Please note, only a payment in full will guarantee your place. This can be refunded in full up to six weeks before the workshop. After this date it will only be refunded if there is a waiting list, or a replacement can be found. Non-members can attend workshops if there are places available for a slightly increased rate.

How do I get information about meetings and workshops?

Information about the group will be on the website which is updated as often as often as required. Communications to members are sent at regular intervals.

Do you have a Risk Assessment Policy for meetings and workshops?
